Review Process – CTFC 2021

This IEEE Conference’s Technical Program Chair has appointed a Technical Program Committee which collaborates to the process of review, monitor and discuss (if any) submitted papers using the conference submission link at https://cmt3.research.microsoft.com/CTFC2021

Peer review is vital to the quality of published research. The 2021 Conference on Technologies for Future Cities (CTFC) – #53146 ensures that all conference papers go through the peer review process before publication.

Single-blind peer review of each technical paper is evaluated during a fixed window of time by a group of experts in the same field to make sure it meets the necessary standards for acceptance and publication. In single-blind, the names of the reviewers are not shared with the author but the reviewers are aware of the author’s identity. The single-blind peerreview model ensures that the reviewer can give an honest and impartial evaluation of the article.

To save valuable reviewer’s time and to prevent plagiarism from appearing in the publication and in Xplore, the review process is outline as follows:

1. Upload Submission: Authors submit a full-length scientific paper (not more than 6 pages) manuscript by the deadline to the conference submission link at https://cmt3.research.microsoft.com/CTFC2021

2. Plagiarism check: Plagiarism check of all uploaded manuscripts will be done by the conference organizers. IEEE recommends a 30% similarity threshold to identify submissions that should be reviewed for possible problems.

3. Send to reviewers for comments: The paper is reviewed by three reviewers. Conference peer review occurs within a fixed window of time. All authors are notified of the peer review decision on their paper at the same time. Authors may receive one of three possible decisions:
a. Accept: Your paper will be published without edits. You may be asked to upload final camera-ready files or to sign a copyright form.
b. Accept with revision: Your paper will be accepted after you implement edits suggested by the reviewers. You will be asked to provide a revised version.
c. Reject: Your paper will not be presented at the conference or published in the conference proceedings. You may submit your paper to another IEEE publication.

4. Reviewers Expectation: It is important for authors to know what is important during peer review and what authors ensure to cover all the topics in this conference paper. During the peer review process, reviewers look for:
a. Scope: Is the paper appropriate for the scope of this conference?
b. Novelty: Is this original material distinct from previous publications?
c. Validity: Is the study well designed and executed?
d. Data: Are the data reported, analyzed, and interpreted correctly?
e. Clarity: Are the ideas expressed clearly, concisely, and logically?
f. Compliance: Are all ethical and publication requirements met?
g. Advancement: Is this a significant contribution to the field?

5. Final Camera Ready Paper Submission: Authors of accepted papers are invited to submit a final (proceedings) paper by a specified deadline, by editing all the revisions suggested by the reviewers. Please see the guideline for Final Camera Ready Paper Submission. https://www.futurecities.mes.ac.in/call-for-papers/submit-camera-ready-paper/

6. IEEE Xplore publication: The final manuscript selected (accepted and presented) will be published in the IEEE Xplore conference proceedings.
